Quarterly Newsletter - District 1 - September 2019
District 1 Fall Newsletter
Hello Montana Private Applicators!
As we move into fall the MSU Pesticide Education Program wants to remind you to keep track of your pesticide license expiation date and pesticide education recertification credits. You can find out how many credits you have by contacting your local MSU Extension office or online at the MDA Pesticide License Search Tool.
Remember, District 1 recertifies December 31, 2023 so you have more than four years to get your six recertification credits. This sounds like a long time, but time flies so keep an eye out for relevant courses in your area.
Waste Disposal Events in September
The Montana Department of Agriculture's annual Pesticide Disposal Events will be held at several locations around Montana. Dates and locations include: September 17 in Wolf Point, September 18 in Sydney, September 19 in Miles City and September 20 in Billings.
You can dispose of any pesticide at this event, including those no longer registered in Montana. You must pre-register online by September 9. There is no charge for the first 200 pounds. Amounts over 200 pounds cost $1 per pound.
For more information view the Montana Pesticide Waste Disposal Program and 2019 Sites news release.
